Elizabeth Nell Norman, 90, of Glasgow, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the NHC Healthcare Center. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lucy Peden Chapman.
The widow of the late Keith Wayne Norman, her children characterize her as the best wife and mother ever. She was a grandmother to many but “Grunchy” to a few. Elizabeth was a 1954 graduate of Park City High School, and in 1956, was fortunate to be able to see Elvis in person. She was an avid fan of UK basketball and Formula One racing as well as a dedicated viewer of American Idol and The Voice. She was a proud homemaker who adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the oldest member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Elizabeth is survived by four children: Kim Bartley (Eddie), Cindy Hampton, Eddie Norman, and Kevin Norman, all of Glasgow; a daughter-in-law, Susie Forbis Norman of Auburn; her caregiver, Judy Green; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children: Janet Lynn Norman and Wayne Norman; a former son-in-law, Roger Hampton; and her only sister, Lorraine Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and continue on Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
