The Barren County Fiscal Court is set to take up a public library audit and a major road invoice when magistrates gather for their first March meeting Tuesday morning.
The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. March 3 in the Barren County Fiscal Courtroom. As is typical with the first meeting of the month it is shorter than the third-Tuesday session, which includes department and committee reports.
According to the meeting agenda, magistrates are scheduled to acknowledge receipt of the audit for the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. The library serves Barren County residents as the public library system. Campbell, Myer and Rutledge performed the audit.
Court members also are expected to consider a $691,500 invoice from Bluegrass and Associates for work on Ritters Mill Road. As previously reported by Glasgow News 1, a portion of Ritters Mill Road was closed due to damage sustained during severe weather. The subsequent repairs were funded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
In addition to those items, magistrates are set to handle a series of routine actions. The agenda lists approval of minutes from the Feb. 17, 2026, meeting, payment of claims, transfers of funds and personnel actions, all as presented. The court is also scheduled to consider appointments to various boards and councils and to approve annual training incentive letters from the Kentucky Department of Local Government. Magistrates are expected to vote on a $15,555 invoice from The Bank of New York Mellon Corporate Trust and a resolution authorizing a 2026 Law Enforcement Protection Program grant application.
The next regular fiscal court meeting is listed for March 17, 2026.
