Two Glasgow police arrest cases lead to Barren County grand jury indictments

Two people who were arrested by Glasgow police have been indicted by a Barren County grand jury.

Bloomington, Indiana, resident Benjamin Haines has been indicted on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident without rendering aid, resisting arrest, reckless driving, disregarding traffic control devices, no/expired registration plates and receipt, and failure to/or improper signal.

Haines was arrested by Glasgow police on Feb. 1 following a brief standoff in the Central Center parking lot near Big Lots. His arraignment has not been scheduled yet, according to the indictment.

Brittany Runyon has been indicted on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree criminal mischief, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (first offense), disregarding a stop sign, texting while driving (first offense) and failure to produce insurance card. The wanton endangerment and the criminal mischief charges are felonies, according to the indictment.

Runyon was arrested in January for crashing into a Glasgow Police Department cruiser at Simmons Street and Frazier Avenue

Her arraignment in Barren County Circuit Court is scheduled for March 23 at 10 a.m.
