Lawrence C. Combs, Mount Hermon

Lawrence C. Combs, 90, of Mount Hermon, KY passed away Monday, February 16th, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Lawrence was born in Mount Hermon, KY on July 8, 1935, a son of the late Marie (Welch) and Kermit Combs.

Lawrence married the love of his life, Barbara Jones Combs on November 8, 1965 in Livingston, TN.

Lawrence served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and then served in the U.S. Navy for sixteen years before retiring. After retiring, he worked as a farmer for the remainder of his life.

Lawrence loved to work in the garden, ride his kids and grand kids around on the lawn mower, and spending time with and helping friends and neighbors any chance that he got. He was of the Baptist faith.

Along with his wife, Barbara Combs, Lawrence is survived by two daughters, Tammy Combs Garret, of Glasgow, KY; and Teresa, wife of Desper Cochran, of Fountain Run, KY.

Lawrence is also survived by six grandsons, Justin Perdue, Zach Perdue, Charlie Cochran, Seth Garrett and wife Hallie, Colby Garrett and wife Holly, and Casey Perdue and wife Lily. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, Harper, Omery, Ryder, Hallie Kate, and Rylie.

Lawrence is also survived by two brothers, Marvin Combs, husband of Linda, of Glasgow, KY and Harlan Combs, of Glasgow, KY.

Along with his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Combs and Roger Combs, two sisters, Eva Mae Davis and Sue Tinsley, and one great granddaughter, Annie Lynn.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY with Bro. Joseph Rushing officiating.

Public Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 17th and 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.

Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Mount Hermon, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for all donations to be made to Kosair Shriners.
