STAFF REPORT
Glasgow News 1
The Barren County Fiscal Court will meet on Feb. 17 at 9 a.m. to address a range of important local issues. The session, open to the public, is scheduled to take place in the Barren County Fiscal Courtroom.
Among the agenda items is the second reading of a proposed ordinance focused on animal control, marking an essential step in local governance aimed at regulating animals within the county. This proposed amendment, which seeks to modernize the county animal control ordinance passed in 1996, passed its first reading by a 5-2 vote, was the subject of a public meeting, and is the focus of the Feb. 16 Administration and Budget Committee.
The fiscal court will also consider approving a memorandum of understanding with the Administrative Office of the Courts.
In addition to these matters, the magistrates will review payment of claims and transfer of funds, appointments to local boards and councils, personnel actions, and several invoices. Notably, the court will approve a substantial sum totaling over $512,000 in key invoices, including payments to the KACO Workers Compensation Fund and KACO All Lines Fund.
Furthermore, the fiscal court will focus on authorizing the judge-executive to sign essential management reports related to solid waste and grants.
