Kayla Kirkpatrick buried a free throw line jumper with five seconds left Thursday night. That shot proved to be the difference in Glasgow’s 47-45 win over Marion County. The Lady Knights were unable to get off a shot before the final horn.
Glasgow led throughout, but had to hold off Marion in the fourth quarter to get the victory. The Lady Scotties posted a 10-9 edge in the first quarter, and added a 12-8 advantage in the second to lead 22-17 at halftime.
Glasgow outscored Marion, 16-12, in the third period. The Lady Scotties led 38-29 headed into the final period.
Glasgow left the door open by hitting only 9 of 20 free throws in the game.
Reese England led the Lady Scotties with 18 points, while Riley Strode added 11, and Kirkpatrick finished with 10 points.
Glasgow hosts Edmonson County Saturday at 2 p.m. The Lady Scotties are 7-18 overall.
