The Scotties’ shot at winning in Tompkinsville on Tuesday rolled off the rim at the buzzer. Glasgow got the ball out of bounds with 4.1 seconds left and the full length of the court to go at Monroe County.
Jerrick Martin dribbled beyond half court, passed across court to Carter Hodges, who shot from the right side of the basket just before the horn sounded. The ball hit the right side of the rim, hopped over the cylinder, and skipped off the left side of the rim. That left the Scotties with a 46-45 loss.
Glasgow led 15-11 at the end of the first quarter, but posted only six points in the second period. Monroe County led 25-21 at halftime.
The Scotties’s defense clamped down in the third period, and they led 35-34 headed into the final period.
Landon Minton led Glasgow with 13 points, while Jaylen Bradley added 12 points and Jerrick Martin finished with 10.
