A 95-year-old woman died in a house fire in northern Barren County Tuesday evening.
According to Barren County Coroner Tim Gibson, Valeria Peden died in the fire at her home at 617 Bunch Road around 7:45 p.m.
Gibson confirmed that no foul play is suspected in Peden’s death, and told Glasgow News 1 that her body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office in Louisville for an autopsy, which is standard procedure.
The state fire marshal was called to the scene on Feb. 11.
