James Radford “Red” Stephens, Edmonton

James Radford “Red” Stephens, 87 of Edmonton, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at his residence. He was born on December 31, 1938, to the late Finis and Beaulah Froedge Stephens.

James served in the United States Army; he was a mechanic. When returning home, he was a farm hand and lived his life in the Cedar Flat Community of Metcalfe County.

He is survived by his sister Mary (Dennis) Fancher of Glasgow, brother Jim Stephens of Sellersburg, IN, and sister-in-law Kendall Stephens of Summer Shade. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, special neighbors and caregivers, Wood and Betty Smith.

He is preceded in death by his sisters Martha (Bill) Bragg, Marie (Ron) Lytle, Elizabeth (Bobby) Shirley, brothers Rondyl Stephens, Jessie Stephens, also preceded in his death, half-brothers Theamon Stephens, Raymon (Delphia) Stephens, Robert (Bernice) Stephens, and half sisters Vera Mae (Lester) Dubree, Vada Jane (Bill) Koqiak.

The family has chosen cremation. Butler Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted to the care of Mr.Stephens.
