Western Kentucky University has the second-best online program in the commonwealth, according to the 2026 U.S. News and World Report.
“These rankings affirm the intentional work our faculty and academic teams have done to continuously strengthen our online programs,” said Dr. Holli Drummond, assistant provost for Student Success & Online Learning. “We are proud to see that commitment reflected in improved outcomes, increased national visibility, and, most importantly, student success.”
The university’s online bachelor’s program was ranked seventy-seventh in the United States, and second in Kentucky by the U.S. News and World Report. In addition to this general rating, WKU’s online undergraduate business program ranked thirty-second nationally, the veteran’s bachelor program ranked forty-seventh, the veteran’s master of business administration program climbed to forty-fifth, and veteran’s graduate education ranked 37th nationally, according to a university press release.
The Online Undergraduate Business program also improved its position, moving up to 71st after ranking 75th in the previous year, the release stated.
The U.S. News and World Report state that it assessed nearly 1,850 online bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Rankings were based on factors “such as faculty credentials and training, services and technology available to students, student engagement, and expert opinions on the academic quality of programs” rather than on standardized test scores.
