Either via Zoom or in-person, the seven Barren County Fiscal Court Magistrates will meet to approve various payments.

There is a $10,763.99 invoice from FlyHighUSA for a “DJI M4 T Bundle,” which includes a smart remote with large screen, four flight batteries, a rapid charger, a speaker and a spotlight. Barren County Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd told Glasgow News 1 that the invoice is for rescue squad supplies. Money from a recently received Search and Rescue grant, which was approved on Dec. 16, will be used to pay the invoice, Byrd said.

Magistrates will also approve the payment of claims. A review of the 11-page claim list show a total of $79,169.01, with $21,427.74 spent on road supplies, $31,168.49 being spent on various jail supplies and $26,572.78 spent on general supplies.

The Barren County Fiscal Court has two meetings per month — held on the first and third Tuesday of the month. The first is primarily to approve payments and “to keep processes moving,” Byrd said at the Jan. 6 meeting, and does not include committee or department reports.
