The City of Glasgow has become a Certified City of Ethics, which is a way to recognize municipalities that have adopted principles and procedures that offer guidance on ethical issues.
“This milestone reflects the city’s strong commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical leadership,” the league stated.
After reviewing the city’s current ethics ordinance, comparing it to the model ordinance, and adopting an amended ordinance locally, a city achieves certification, according to the Kentucky League of Cities. Glasgow adopted a revised code of ethics at the Jan. 12 Glasgow City Council meeting.
Based on information from the Kentucky League of Cities, Glasgow City Clerk Danielle Cashion told Glasgow News 1 that the city has received this distinction since 2017.
