Glasgow, Barren County and Caverna students may get to stay home, but they’ll still have work to complete.

Glasgow Independent, Barren County and Caverna Independent schools announced a Non-Traditional Instruction Day for Tuesday, Jan. 27, due to the hazardous conditions caused by the ice and snow that coated Barren County over the weekend.

“Teachers will communicate expectations for any NTI work and will be available to assist students as needed,” the Barren County School District stated.

As previously reported, Non-Traditional Instruction — or NTI — days were implemented in 2011. Each school district can utilize up to 10 NTI days that will not count against the school district’s calendar, according to the Kentucky Department of Education.

This is NTI day No.1 for Barren County and Glasgow, and No. 4 for Caverna.
