When snow and ice blanket Barren County, certain Glasgow city roads will be cleared before others.
There are four levels of priority when it comes to snow removal, according to information provided by the city.
Priority 1 includes hospitals, emergency services, fire and EMT stations, high-traffic and critical access routes; priority 2 routes include those “remaining arterial roads,” bus routes and roads near schools; priority 3 routes encompasses collector streets and “major neighborhood connectors; priority 4 routes are other residential streets and subdivision and neighborhood roads, according to the city.
“During heavy snowfall, crews may need to remain on Priority 1 routes to keep them open before moving to lower-priority streets,” the City of Glasgow stated. “Residential streets are addressed after higher-priority routes are cleared.”
