Barren County’s November 2025 unemployment percentage was a full point lower than it was in 2024, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.

Unemployment in November 2025 came in at 4.6 percent, compared with the 5.6 percent announced in November 2024. Barren County joins the other 118 Kentucky counties that experienced an unemployment decrease. Kentucky has 120 counties.

There were 18,226 people in the civilian workforce, and there were 847 people listed as unemployed during November 2025 in Barren County, according to information provided by the center.

Kentucky’s November 2025 unemployment was 4.5 percent. The nation’s unemployment came in at 4.3 percent, according to the center.

The commonwealth’s county unemployment rates and employment levels are not seasonally adjusted because of small sample sizes. Employment statistics undergo sharp fluctuations due to seasonal events such as weather changes, harvests, holidays, and school openings and closings, the center stated.

Due to the federal government shutdown, which broke the record as the longest in history, unemployment statistics were delayed because of a funding lapse, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor.
