Doris Ellis Moore, 89, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. Born on May 2, 1936, in Glasgow, Doris was a beloved figure known for her warmth and dedication to her family. She was a faithful member of Hanging Fork Missionary Baptist Church, where she will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and the deep bonds she cultivated throughout her life. She touched the hearts of many, and her presence will truly be missed.

Throughout her life, she embraced her role as a devoted homemaker, finding joy in maintaining a loving home and spending quality time on the family farm. Her heartbeat was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them and her dear friends. Doris was admired for her genuine kindness and the love she extended to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Joe Michael Moore (Kim), Tony Moore (Wendy), and Donna Ree Shipley (Mike). Additionally, Doris was a proud grandmother to Andy Joe Moore (Leah), Ashley Hendrick (Wes), Nikki Gregory, Alesa Tyree (Matt), Whitney Isenberg, Whitney Shea Curd (Will), Ben Shipley, and Bryan Shipley. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Emma Kate Moore, Josey Brooke Hendrick, Joe Thomas Moore, Jonah O’Nell Hendrick, Will Sutton Moore, Abby Kindred, Eli Tyree, Bella Gregory, Cole Isenberg, Ellie Curd, Lucas Gregory, Olivia Tyree, America Isenberg, Adley Curd, and Bo Shipley.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Moore, her father, Woodwin Ellis, her mother, Nell Graven Ellis, and her sister, Maudie Nuckols. She leaves behind a wealth of memories that will be cherished by her loved ones.

Visitation will take place at A.F Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow on January 22, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on January 23, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A funeral service honoring Doris’s life will be held at Hanging Fork Missionary Baptist Church on January 23, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. with burial in the Henderson Cemetery.
