Barren River Lake State Resort Park has been designated as a warming station by Kentucky State Parks.
The park is located in Lucas in southern Barren County.
Kentucky State Parks stated that in the event of power outages, Barren River Lake State Resort Park — along with nine other state parks — are ready to provide people with temporary shelter.
As previously reported, the National Weather Service forecasts the snow, wintry mix and frigid temperatures will begin on Saturday and last until Sunday night into Monday. Barren County — and all of Kentucky — is in a winter storm watch from midnight on Jan. 24 to 6 a.m. on Jan. 26.
