The Glasgow Police Department offered driving safety tips in advance of the arctic, and snowy, weather forecasted for the weekend.

The National Weather Service stated that there is a slight chance of snow beginning on Friday, Jan. 22, but an even greater chance of snow on Saturday, Jan. 24. Given this forecast, people are advised to check their tire pressure and treads, check fluid and gas levels, and prepare a first-aid kit, a blanket, and snacks, according to Glasgow police.

“Plan your travel,” a Glasgow police press release stated. “Check the weather, road conditions, and allow extra time and drive carefully.”

People are reminded to move vehicles to the side of the road if there are no injuries, in addition to calling the police and exchanging information, according to police.

People are also reminded to share the road with snow plows.
