The Glasgow Scotties punched their ticket to the semifinals of the 2A State Tournament with an 81-64 win over Johnson Central on Friday night at Owensboro Sportscenter.
The Scotties took the lead for good in the game with a 12-5 run to close the second quarter. They led 37-32 at halftime.
The Golden Eagles stayed within single digits until midway through the third quarter. A basket by Grayson Bartley sparked a 7-0 run to give Glasgow its first double-digit lead, 50-39, with just over two minutes left in the third period.
The Scotties were still ahead, 54-47, at the end of the third quarter.
Johnson Central opened the fourth period on a 6-2 run and closed to within three, 56-53.
Landon Minton put back an offensive rebound and that sparked a decisive run. Glasgow finished the final six minutes of the game on a 23-11 roll.
Jaylen Bradley led Glasgow with 25 points and eight assists. Minton added 21 points, and Jerrick Martin finished with 10.
Saturday night at 7 the Scotties take on Christian Academy of Louisville in the semifinals of the tournament. Christian Academy is coached by former Warren Central coach Tim Riley.
