The second and fourth quarters proved decisive in Barren County’s loss at Bowling Green on Tuesday night.
The Trojans opened with a 19-15 advantage in the first quarter, but they scored only 10 points in the second period. That left Barren behind 37-29 at halftime.
Barren rallied in the third quarter with a 14-10 edge and trailed after three, 47-43.
The Purples closed out the game with a 22-10 run in the final quarter to win 69-53.
Gavin Nunn had a big night in the paint for the Trojans with 20 points, while Kady Hardy added 14.
Barren returns to action Saturday at 5 p.m. at Greenwood against Portland, Tenn.
