Glasgow and Barren County students have less than a month to apply for any of several large Kentucky Transportation Cabinet scholarships.

The scholarships in construction management, civil engineering and civil engineering technologies have a deadline of Feb. 1, according to the cabinet’s website.

Construction Management scholarships started in 2023 and are given to “qualified candidates pursuing a bachelor’s degree in this field at Eastern Kentucky University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University, or Western Kentucky University, according to the scholarship. Scholarships up to $59,000 are awarded.

The civil engineering scholarships — of which there are 80 each year — award up to $59,000 to “students pursuing a four-year degree in Civil Engineering” at the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville or Western Kentucky University, according to the cabinet’s scholarship information.

Civil engineering technology scholarships award up to $14,800 — $3,700 per semester — to complete an associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology that “prepare students for work with the Cabinet upon graduation,” the cabinet’s scholarship information stated.
