Harley Harris Hall, Gainesboro, Tenn.

Harley Harris Hall, age 81, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, formerly of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home on Friday, January 9, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born on May 30, 1944, in Tompkinsville, Harley was the son of the late Dennis Hall and Ruth (Deckard) Hall McPherson, and the stepson of the late Jack McPherson.

Harley worked as a welder at Stephens Manufacturing for 18 years. He was a lifelong farmer and true outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and woodworking. Harley was baptized at Monroe Baptist Church. He served our country and was a Vietnam Veteran, where he earned two Purple Hearts.

He married Brenda Birge, who preceded him in death.

Harley is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Heady (Jeff), of Gainsboro; a son, Jeff Hall (Becky) of Tompkinsville; two grandchildren, Cole Heady (fiancé, Macie) and Cale Heady (Jessica), and a special friend, Gail Spear.

Other than his parents, and wife, Brenda, he is preceded in death by brothers, Roger Earl Hall, Leon Hall, and Voris Hall; sister, Virginia Flora, and a step brother, Randall McPherson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13 at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. DAV Chapter 20 will perform military rites at the cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, 4 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, 8 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Harley’s memory may be made to the Monroe County Backpack Program.
