Rebecca Burnette, 68, of Munfordville, Ky, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 in her loving husbands arms, surrounded by family. She was born in Tacoma, Wash., on February 21, 1957. She was a member of the Horse Cave Baptist Church. Rebecca was a 1975 graduate of Caverna High School and was a Colonette. She was a dedicated worker at all of her jobs and a former Girl Scout Leader. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always had a smile on her face.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jean Hay; grandparents, Garland and Eleanor Hay; mother-in-law, Joeatta Sturgeon; brother-in-law, Steve “Onion” Burnette.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Rickie Burnette; two children, Chad Burnette (Melissa) of Cave City, and April Meador, of Cave City; six grandchildren, Brittany Burnette, of Horse Cave, Zackary Burnette (Rachael), of Glasgow, Shawn Burnette, of Horse Cave, Kennedi Meador, Aven Meador, and Knoxley Meador, all of Cave City; two great-grandchildren, AllyRose Burnette, of Horse Cave, and Ares Burnette, of Glasgow; her father, Kenneth Hay (Joyce); two sisters, Robin Hogue (Gary), and Kennetha Higdon; father-in-law, Loren Sturgeon; sister-in-law, Scharity Rutherford (Brian).
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with Bro. Kevin Denton officiating.
