For a quarter Tuesday night, the Barren County Trojans held their own against the No. 1 team in the Fourth Region. After that, Warren Central took control of the game and beat the Trojans, 87-55.
Barren trailed Central, 15-12, at the end of the first period. The Dragons caught fire in the second quarter with a 26-10 run. The Trojans trailed 41-22 at halftime.
Warren Central continued the run in the third quarter, outscoring Barren, 30-17. The Trojans trailed 71-39 after three quarters.
Weston Shelton led Barren with 16 points, while Kade Hardy scored 12, and Gavin Nunn finished with 11.
On Friday, Barren County will induct its 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame members. The induction ceremony will happen between the girls’ and boys’ games against Glasgow.
