A Glasgow man charged with strangulation requested a preliminary hearing during his Barren County District Court appearance on Dec. 30.
District Judge Gabe Pendleton set his preliminary hearing for Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. Pendleton also raised Chayse Gladden’s bond from $1,000 cash to $5,000 cash.
Gladden, 29, of Glasgow, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. on Dec. 27 by Glasgow police after an alleged domestic violence situation at a residence on Pocahontas Trail. He is charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, minor injury) and second-degree strangulation.
Gladden attempted to cancel police response after 911 called the residence after a call from a woman at the residence disconnected, according to the uniform citation in his court file.
Police saw “redness and bruising” on the woman’s face, around her eyes and around her neck, according to the citation. Gladden denied hitting or strangling the woman when speaking with police, the citation stated.
