Melvin Cecil Lemons, Jr. 62 of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at the University of Louisville with his family by his side. Mr. Lemons was born in New Albany, IN to the late Melvin Cecil Lemons, Sr. and Violet Marie Nuckols of New Albany, IN. Mr. Lemons loved hunting, fishing, archery, and was a well-known self-contractor and of the Christian Faith.
Survivors include his mother, Violet Lemons of New Albany, IN; daughters, ShyAnne Erwin (Joesph) of Cecila, KY; sisters, Misty Marie Daltilo of Cave City, KY, Debra Sue Evans (Phil Abell) of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Hailey Marie, Alexis Lee, Alivia, Ryder, and Layla.
In addition to is father he is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Lynn.
A private service for the family will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, with burial in the Beaumont Cemetery.
McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
