After a couple of close losses, the Glasgow Scotties held off Franklin-Simpson for a 63-56 win Tuesday night at home. The victory was in the semifinal round of the 2A Section 2 Tournament. The Scotties will host the title game against Logan County on Jan. 3.
Glasgow got off to a hot start and led 22-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats clawed back in the second period, but the Scotties still held a seven-point lead at halftime, 33-26.
Franklin-Simpson continued its rally in the third period as Glasgow struggled to make shots. The Wildcats posted a 15-9 advantage, but the Scotties led by one, 42-41, after three.
Glasgow found its offensive rhythm in the final quarter and outscored Franklin, 21-15, to secure the win.
Jaylen Bradley led the way for the Scotties with 18 points, while Jerrick Martin added 14.
Glasgow hits the road to Warren East on Thursday for a 15th District showdown at 7:30 p.m.
