The Glasgow Christmas Parade is approaching. With it comes traffic disruptions and road closures.
Glasgow police announced that several roads along the usual parade route will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Scottie Drive at the schools will be the first to close at 1 p.m., according to a Glasgow Police Department press release. Columbia Avenue from Sandwood Drive to the Veterans Outer Loop will be the next to close at 5 p.m. followed by the remainder of Columbia Avenue 30 minutes later — the rest beginning at Sandwood Drive “and all side streets,” according to the press release.
The Glasgow Public Square will also be closed at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 6.
All roads will remain closed until the parade is over. Parade clean up is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m., the release stated. Closures include the caveat that they could be “earlier if needed,” the release stated.
