Barren County pulled away in the fourth quarter to win its season-opener against Green County, 54-37.
Shelby Byrd was on fire from start to finish for the Trojanettes. She posted 26 points and Addy Slagle added 10.
Barren outscored the Lady Dragons 16-7 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Byrd scored seven of her points in that quarter.
Prior to the late run, the game was tight. Barren led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter, and 21-18 at halftime.
