The Glasgow Scotties’ defense was solid early, but they struggled to score en route to a 59-50, season-opening loss at Somerset on Tuesday.
Glasgow held the Briar Jumpers to eight points in the first period and led 12-8. Trace England sparked the Scotties with a pair of 3-pointers in the opening quarter. Somerset took control of the game in the second period with an 18-10 run.
Somerset outscored Glasgow 19-11 in the third period to lead 45-33 after three.
The Scotties rallied in the fourth quarter, but could not overcome the deficit.
