A speculative building had its final development plan approved by the Joint City-County Planning Commission members.
During the commission’s Nov. 17 meeting, the commissioners approved the final development plan for the Barren County Economic Authority’s 100,000 square-foot speculative building off U.S. 68/Ky. 80 in the South Cooper Industrial Park. The speculative building was recently sold to Bluegrass Ingredients in September after the business entered into an option agreement with the economic authority at the beginning of 2025.
The building will primarily be used for cold storage, have one entrance onto the internal road of Beltline Boulevard, and will have eight parking spots, according to information obtained from the commission.
Regarding Betline Boulevard, the commissioners also recommended the acceptance of the road into the city of Glasgow’s street maintenance. Superintendent of Public Works Jim McGowen also recommended its acceptance in a letter, noting that “the T-turn around at the end…will need to be replaced with a commercial cul-de-sac constructed to city requirements before there is any further development,” according to the commission.
