The Barren County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office announced it will be collecting Toys for Tots items.
Circuit Court Clerk Julie Wright Jolly said a person can drop off unwrapped toys at the clerk’s office in the bottom floor of the courthouse on the square in Glasgow during the office’s regular business hours, which are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Toys for Tots program is run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, which conducts local toy drives in over 800 communities across the United States, the program’s website states. Toy collection takes place from October to mid-December with distribution of the toys following in late December.
“At Christmas, Coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the economically disadvantaged children of the community,” the website states.
