Cave City will soon have a fresh burst of color downtown as The Flower Cave prepares to open Nov. 7 at 121 W. Broadway St. Owned by local resident Hannah Slagle, the shop will focus on custom floral arrangements, a “bloom bar,” and delivery services for those looking to brighten a home, event, or special occasion.

“I’m going to have fresh flowers everyday, and on Fridays and Saturdays I’ll have a ‘bloom bar’ where people can come in and build their own bouquets,” Slagle said. “And I’ll help with that if need be.”

Inside the pastel-hued space, visitors will also find a small selection of boutique items and Slagle’s own crocheted pieces. “These are all handmade by me,” she said. “We’ll also have some jewelry and clothes for men and women.”

Slagle’s inspiration stems from a family bond over blooms. “Lilies are definitely my favorite flower, they were my mom’s favorite, too,” she explained. “My husband would bring me flowers and I loved messing with them and putting them together and I thought I would love to do this as a career.”

As winter approaches and days grow grayer, Slagle hopes the shop can offer a lift. “Just having the smells of spring and summer brightens things up.”

The Flower Cave will have a grand opening Friday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.
