Siddens Road will be closed at the bridge for roughly 30 days, according to Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management.
The closure is “necessary to complete the painting phase of the bridge project,” according to emergency management. Siddens Road is southwest of Glasgow and links Finney and Old Bowling Green roads.
Most recently, the Barren County Fiscal Court magistrates approved to pay a $475,070.94 invoice from Intech Contracting for work done on the bridge with magistrate Marty Kinslow commenting it will look “basically brand new” once all the work is completed. Intech Contracting was the company that submitted the $762,342.98 bid, which was approved at the April 15 fiscal court meeting.
Bridge rehabilitation funds come from the $751,319 given to the county by the commonwealth.
