A Glasgow man is facing first-degree wanton endangerment charges after firing a handgun “into the air” on McKenna Street, according to a Glasgow police press release.
Twenty-five-year-old Mikal Johnson was arrested and taken to the Barren County Detention Center on Saturday, Sept. 6, when Glasgow police responded to a residence in reference to a shots-fired complaint.
The shots were fired after a “verbal altercation,” according to the press release. Johnson said he was trying to get between two other individuals who were fighting and when that “did not work, he pulled out his firearm and fired one round into the air,” Johnson’s uniform citation stated.
Johnson and the two others were in the road at the time of the shot, the citation stated.
No injuries were reported.
Johnson’s court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 11 at 12:30 p.m.
