Warren East scored twice in the first four minutes en route to handing Glasgow its first district loss of the season.
The Lady Scotties entered the 15th District contest at 3-0 in the district and 7-1 overall. The Lady Raiders were 1-2 in district action coming into the game. Their win muddies the race to the top seed for the tournament next month. Glasgow is 3-1, Barren County is 1-1, East is 2-2 and Allen County-Scottsville is 0-2.
On Thursday, the Lady Scotties had a pair of chances in the first half to get back into the game. With 29 minutes left in the half, Madeline Neuhaus had a penalty kick deflect off the left upright, and the Lady Raiders’ goalie was able to eventually corral the ball. Later in the half, Glasgow had a good cross into the box that the goalie was able to knock away.
East added two more goals in the first half to talk a 4-0 lead into the break.
Audrey Burchett scored Glasgow’s only goal with 16:25 to go in the game off a penalty kick.
The Lady Scotties play at Allen County on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
