The Park City City Commission will meet Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 6 p.m. at City Hall to review tax measures, hear departmental reports, and discuss possible salary increases for city leaders.
The agenda includes second readings of two ordinances. One would levy the city’s 2025 annual property tax on motor vehicles and boats within city limits, while the other pertains to tangible and real property tax.
At last month’s meeting, commissioners supported a 4 percent increase to the city’s tax revenue. The move keeps property tax at around its current rate of 27.4 cents per $100 of assessed value while allowing the city to collect more revenue from existing property.
Commissioners will also take up new business with a proposal to amend Chapter 90 of the city’s code, restructuring Articles and Sections VII through X. The proposed changes include updates to leash laws within the city. “We’re trying to make it easier on animal control,” Mayor Larry Poteet said.
In addition, commissioners are expected to hold a discussion on whether to raise salaries for both the mayor and commissioners.
The meeting is open to the public and will be in the conference room of City Hall, 41 Mammoth Cave Ave.
