The Glasgow Lady Scotties opened the 2025 girls’ soccer season by winning their first five games. That unbeaten run ended Wednesday night at Warren East with a 9-2 loss to Franklin-Simpson in the 2A Section 2 Tournament title game.
Glasgow opened on the right foot when Aniston Young scored less than three minutes into the contest. The Lady Wildcats responded five minutes later and tied the game 1-1. Franklin took a 2-1 lead three minutes later, but Young scored again for the Lady Scotties 30 seconds later.
The Lady Wildcats took the lead for good with 19:58 left in the first half. They tacked on another goal before halftime and led 4-2 at the break.
Franklin-Simpson poured in five goals in the second half to set the final 7-goal advantage.
The loss knocked the Lady Scotties to 5-1 on the year. They are back in action today at home against Allen County-Scottsville in a 15th District showdown at 6 p.m.
