Griffin Jackson held off Barton Rutledge to capture a 2A Sectional title at Park Mammoth Golf Club on Monday.
Glasgow’s Jackson fired 1-under 69 to beat Allen County-Scottsville’s Rutledge by one stroke. Both qualify for the 2A State Tournament at Owensboro Country Club on Sept. 8. Logan County won the boys’ team title with a 310, while Franklin-Siimpson was second with a 315. Both of those teams also qualify for the state tourney.
Also for Scotties, Tate Pace fired 79, while Tucker Garrett shot 83, Jackson Norris posted 88, and Carter Hodges finished with an 89. Glasgow was third as a team with a 319.
The Lady Scotties competed in the girls’ portion of the sectional and finished third.
Reese Chaney led Glasgow with a 107, while Harlow Bale fired 111, Korah Grace Jones posted a 113, and Lucy Cate Stallons finished with 136.
Allen County-Scottsville won the team title with 368, and Franklin-Simpson was second. Ella Anderson of ACS won the girls’ individual title with an 85, while Abigail Hogg of Edmonson County was second with an 86.
