Probable cause was found to send a Glasgow man’s case to a Barren County grand jury recently.
Barry Sexton, 19, was arrested by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office on July 28 on a charge of leaving the scene of a single-vehicle crash without rendering aid. A female passenger was in the vehicle Sexton was driving when it hit a tree on Matthews Mill Road, his uniform citation stated.
“[Sexton] stated that after the [crash], he attempted to get help by knocking on a door,” the uniform citation stated. “[Sexton] then stated he left the scene as he was scared and began to walk through the woods.”
The passenger had to be extracted from the vehicle and taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, according to the citation. She was later flown to Skyline Medical Center in Tennessee due to her injuries. No update on her condition has yet been received.
At his most recent preliminary hearing in Barren County District Court, his case was forwarded to a Barren County grand jury for its possible indictment. Sexton’s bond was also raised to $10,000 cash.
