A well-known Hiseville family business recently received support from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture in the form of a $100,000 grant.

Legacy Dairy, a family farm in Hiseville that began selling, bottling and processing their local dairy in March 2020, was one of 27 agricultural businesses awarded the grant through the department as part of their effort to “build resilience in the middle of the supply chain and strengthen local and regional food systems.”

Owner and operator Doug Jones said the grant funds will be used to buy a 14-foot refrigerated box truck and liftgate.

He said he is blessed to receive this grant as it will help them fulfill their orders a little quicker.

Jones said he applied for this grant roughly 18 months ago.
