Two Glasgow-based companies received the Governor’s Safety and Health Award for logging a collective quarter-of-a-million hours without time lost due to injuries.
Span Tech, which is located at the intersection of Roseville Road and Hilltopper Way, and Farmers Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation were two of the 49 Kentucky employers selected for the award. Span Tech logged 277,118 hours worked without lost time while the utility cooperative had 501,687 hours logged, according to the governor’s press release.
Award recipients were recognized during the annual Governor’s Safety and Health Conference and Exposition in Owensboro.
“As Team Kentucky continues to create more opportunities for our people, we must ensure that we are making workplace safety a top priority,” said Governor Andy Beshear. “Protecting our workers is living out our faith and values and no matter where you work, every Kentuckian has the right to be safe while earning a living.”
