As summer break winds down and area students get ready for the new school year, families in Glasgow and Barren County are invited to multiple celebrations.
The Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library is hosting an end-of-summer bash on July 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The event will include snacks, snow cones, an inflatable obstacle course and a showcase of art projects created by children during the library’s summer reading program, which had an art theme this year.
Krista Jones, the library’s youth services manager, said she hopes the community can “come in and look at what all the artists have created.”
Another celebration begins a little later in the day.
T.J. Regional Health is hosting a back-to-school carnival from 5 to 7 p.m. at the T.J. Health Pavilion. The event will feature games, food and prizes while supplies last.
