The Glasgow Police Department and the Barren County Sheriff’s Office are collaborating on Cram the Cruiser, a community-wide school supply drive, this Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Drop-off locations in Glasgow are at Walmart and three Dollar General locations — Happy Valley Road, 31-E Haywood and Edmonton Road near Glasgow High School.

Stephanie Decker, family resource center coordinator at Hiseville Elementary, said this supply drive helps students, parents and teachers, adding that the Barren County School District has a no-buy policy when it comes to school supplies to keep everyone on a level playing field, meaning when students “come in, everybody has the same [supplies and are] ready to go.”.

Items needed include: backpacks, binders, glue sticks, sharpies, pencils, erasers, tissue boxes, notebooks — college- and wide-ruled — safety scissors, hand sanitizer, crayons, markets, headphones and earbuds.

All items collected, and monetary donations, will benefit Glasgow and Barren County students.
