Cocaine, methamphetamine, pills and cash were confiscated by members of the Barren River Task Force from a Glasgow man, according to a press release.
On Sunday, July 13, members of the task force and Glasgow police officers stopped 45-year-old David Tywan Franklin at a store on Lexington Drive to serve a federal arrest warrant.
“Detectives noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle [and a] search of the vehicle produced two bags of marijuana and cash,” a drug task force press release stated. “The [drug task force also] executed a search warrant at Franklin’s residence on Lexington Drive where the [drug task force agents] found a large quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine along with a large amount of marijuana, pills and more U.S. currency.”
Franklin was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail and lodged on a federal warrant for drug trafficking offenses, according to the task force press release. He was additionally charged by the Barren River Drug Task Force for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second offense greater or equal 4 grams of cocaine, trafficking in marijuana 8 ounces to 5 pounds (second offense), third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“Additional charges are expected,” the task force press release stated.
The Warren County jail website has Franklin listed as being released from the jail on Tuesday, July 15.
