The Housing Authority of Glasgow discussed a lease agreement with the Barren River Area Development District and heard a maintenance update on the its several duplexes.
After discussing numerous financial matters, the board members listened as Executive Operations Officer Sheri Lee explained to them that the Barren River Area Development District has entered into a lease agreement with the authority to continue the senior meals program at Mayfield Plaza. The lease is for 12 months at $300 a month.
During the reports, Maintenance Director Rodney Sherfey gave the board members an update regarding the several repairs the authority has underway. First, Sherfey spoke about the sinkhole at E.P. Terry Estates in Cave City. He said American Engineers, which has the remediation contract, has found at least two additional sinkholes in close proximity to the one that has been previously discussed.
“They said there’s at least two more,” Sherfey said. “They’re across the fence but it’s still our property.”
Insurance is preparing an estimate on the McGrah Avenue duplex, which had the fire recently when Shane Reece set fire to the bedroom last month.
