The Glasgow Common Council meets tonight at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at the Luska J. Twyman Municipal Building.

Old business:

  • Municipal order no 2025- on order of the mayor, joey botts is hereby re-
    appointed to the barren county economic authority as a city representative.
  • Municipal order no 2025- on order of the mayor, randy gibbons is hereby re-appointed to the Glasgow board of adjustments.
  • Municipal order no 2025- on order of the mayor, Thomas Grubbs is hereby re-appointed to the board of adjustments.
  • Municipal order no 2025- on order of the mayor, Candy Wethington, is hereby re-appointed to the Glasgow board of adjustments.
  • Municipal order no 2025- on order of the mayor, sue mutter is hereby re-appointed to the BRADD aging council.
  • Municipal order no 2025- on order of the mayor, Sarah Young is hereby re-appointed to the Glasgow/Barren County Tourist and Convention Commission as a lodging representative.

  • Second reading ordinance no. 2025 – an ordinance amending ordinance no. 2025-, the city of Glasgow annual budget for the fiscal year 7-1-2024 through 6-30-2025 by receiving into the general fund $271,907.49 for Glasgow airport grant and transferring $271,907.49 to the Glasgow airport. And receiving into the unappropriated general fund $2,000.00 from donations and transferring from the unappropriated general fund $9,200 for bit defender. Transferring $1,000,000.00 from the unappropriated general fund to the unappropriated sanitation landfill fund to replace monies from earlier transfer. Also, to transfer from the unappropriated sanitation landfill fund $87,900.00 for parts and repair of equipment
  • Second reading ordinance no. 2025 – an ordinance adopting the city of Glasgow annual budget for the fiscal year 7-1-25 through 6-30-26, establishing revenues and resources and appropriating funds for the operation of city government.

New business:

  • First reading ordinance 2025- an ordinance amending the city of Glasgow’s code of ordinances, section 31.21 as it relates to the compensation of the mayor, and section 32.01 as it relates to the compensation of members of the city council, and authorizing cost of living adjustments for the mayor and members of the city council pursuant to KRS 83.075.
  • Resolution no. 2025- a joint resolution of the city of Glasgow, Kentucky and Barren County, Kentucky amending an interlocal agreement by and between the two units of local government to clarify the collection of fees and assign responsibility for cost of permit software.
  • Resolution no. 2025- a resolution for the city of Glasgow to make application for a grant, administered by the department of local government, for assistance under the land and water conservation fund act of 1965 for the Glasgow recreation department
  • resolution no. 2025- a resolution authorizing and directing April Russell, director of the office of grant oversight, to apply for a grant from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, animal control advisory board for a spay/neuter grant.

In observance of independence day, all city of Glasgow departments will be closed on Friday, July 4th. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday as we celebrate the birth of our nation!

The next scheduled city council meeting will be Monday, July 14th at 6:00 pm in the Luska J. Twyman municipal building.
