The Glasgow Electric Plant Board, Glasgow Water Company and the City of Glasgow recently received 2025 Workers’ Compensation Safety Grants from the Kentucky League of Cities.

The money will help purchase programs and products that help keep employees safe, according to a press release.

Officials had to apply for the funding to pay for safety training, personal protective equipment and other safety measures.

“Cities are the driving force behind Kentucky,” KLC Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer J.D. Chaney said. “Safe cities attract business and tourism and make the community a better place to live. The Kentucky League of Cities is honored to provide grants to our insurance members to help them fund various programs and purchases.”

The city of Glasgow receives various services from the Kentucky League of Cities, “including insurance, legal guidance, training, legislative advocacy, investment opportunities and community development guidance.”

The Kentucky League of Cities has been awarding grants to its members for more than 25 years, according to the release.
