The Kentucky Animal Control Board encourages everyone to buy spay/neuter license plates when buying or renewing vehicle registrations, as funds for the spay and neuter grants come from these sales.

The spay and neuter fund gets $10 for each initial license plate sold and $5 for each renewal, the board stated.

Regarding the grant, the board announced that its 2025 spay and neuter grant is now available and Glasgow and Barren County can apply.

Awards up to $1,266 will be given to each government on a competitive basis.

Grant applications must be received by email no later than July 15.
