Bobby Wayne Johnson’s bond remains the same.

At his pretrial conference before Barren County Circuit Judge John Alexander, Johnson’s attorney requested a bond modification — suggesting a 10 percent or 25 percent cash bond. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Krystal Cooper said the commonwealth opposed bond reduction due to the severity of his charges. Alexander agreed and Johnson’s bond remains at $20,000.

His next court appearance is set for July 7 at 1 p.m.

The 44-year-old was arrested by state police on Sunday, Feb. 2 after a brief vehicle pursuit in the area of Pace Quarry Road. The pursuit reached up to 95 mph and Johnson drove on the wrong side of the road, according to a uniform citation.

At the intersection of Salem Church Road and Old Munfordville Road, Johnson attempted, and failed, to hit a trooper putting a “stop stick” across the road, according to the citation. Instead, Johnson’s vehicle hit the trooper’s vehicle causing it “major damage.” Troopers shocked Johnson multiple times with a taser while trying to apprehend him.
